The Media Design Program explores communication across media, using traditional and emerging technologies to take on the info-saturated, networked world. Media designers are meaning-makers who skillfully combine the medium and the message to create communications that integrate the user, reader, or viewer’s interaction. Media designers work with interactive objects and spaces, transmedia typography, massive- and micro-scale displays, still and moving images, sound, narrative, dynamic information, branding strategy, interface design, and graphic visualizations. The practice is informed by an in-depth understanding of material culture, communication theory, productive interaction, design research methods, and media history and theory.

If your company or foundation is interested in partnering with the Media Design Program, please visit the sponsor page and our program website for more information.

The Media Design Program is always looking for talented and ambitious risk-takers to apply. Please visit Art Center’s admissions page for more information.
